About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Texas. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from Oklahoma State University, and my Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I graduated in 2018 and have worked in a variety of settings since (hospital based, outpatient based, community based). I help adolescents and young adults learn how to cope with every day stressors, as well as how to cope with trauma.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will start with introductions and then discuss what you are looking for in a therapist (to determine if this is the right fit for you!), in addition to what you want to get out of therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In my years as a therapist, I feel that having a sense of humor is one of the greatest strengths that you can have. There is so much heavy that comes along with therapy, that I believe it's important to bring in some light as well and not get stuck in negative patterns. One of my other strengths is being able to challenge individuals thought patterns and help them see/understand where we can make changes as a team.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with adolescents and young adults who are trying to find their place in the world, or are just starting out and need guidance. Sometimes they don't always know what steps that need to take to achieve their goals, or are stuck at certain steps.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing CBT since I first started as a social worker back in 2016. When utilizing CBT, I often provide worksheets as I believe that developing skills (whether it be communication, coping skills, de-escalation techniques) are just as important as being able to talk about difficult topics.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have a trauma therapy certification through the Ross Institute of Trauma, since 2022. I have helped dozens of individual utilizing these methods when providing group therapy to patients with high levels of trauma. This modality involves learning self-regulation techniques and about the spectrum of emotions. Learning self-regulation techniques prior to going into details about your trauma can help you cope with autonomic responses.
