I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida, I received my Master's degree from Florida Atlantic University, and I have been practicing for about 5 years.

We'll then focus on one issue (or more, related issues) at a time to promote your growth to the best version of yourself, over time.

I help adults with a variety of concerns, from simply becoming a better and more effective version of themselves to struggling with mood or anxiety disorders, substance use or addiction, relational and attachment conflict, or educational and career stressors. I'll meet you where you are and we we can agree on your treatment goals based on what prompted you to seek therapy. We'll then focus on one issue (or more, related issues) at a time to promote your growth to the best version of yourself, over time.

First session

I'd really just like to get to know you and what prompted you to seek therapy, what supports or strengths you have can employ to achieve the growth that you seek, the barriers or obstacles that you may need to overcome, and and how you would know when you have achieved the change and growth that you desire.

Strengths

As a therapist, I believe that I’m generally relatable to many clients, but also flexible and adaptable when needed, honest when possible, empathic and delicate, or direct and challenging, inspiring or motivating, depending on your needs, even if you may not yet be sure of what they are.

Ideal clients

Really, a dream client is motivated to change, and either has or seeks resources and strengths that are needed to propel themselves to achieve the change(s) that they seek.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

If indicated and appropriate, mindfulness and CBT, person (client) - centered, attachment-based, (or other) interventions are integrated into individual therapy. I was trained in CBASP (CBT-R), and many/most traditional CBT interventions.

Nick has been very direct and worked to help me find solutions for on going personal issues. He's made me aware anytime I've tried to make excuses and helped me recognize that that's exactly what they are. (Within reason of course) I've come away from every session recognizing what I can work on to help with my communication and with the tools to do so.

I can't put into words how impactful having Nick as my therapist has been. Before Nick, I had six different therapists, and I was never able to stick with any of them. I never felt like any of them understood the kind of therapy I needed. Nick did. He's an amazing therapist, an amazing listener, and someone I can honestly say I look up to, despite looking up to very few people.
