I am a clinical social worker licensed in California with over 10 years of experience working in multiple settings providing therapy and support for young people in an educational setting, working with families in child protection and in a clinical setting in a correctional facility . I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, co-dependency, identity issues and people who have experienced trauma or emotional abuse. I specialize in those going through life transitions and life balances such as leaving the family home, divorce, job/career changes and moving on from relationships.
The first session will involve getting to know each other and understanding why the client is seeking therapy and identifying the challenges they are facing. Some background information will be gathered and the goals of therapy will be noted.
My ability to build rapport with my clients, to gain insight into their concerns and develop goals to move forward and improve their lives. To support my clients with strategies to help cope and deal with problems and to be there to help process what they are thinking and feeling.
I love working with both young and seasoned professionals as my skill set is beneficial to working with clients who are navigating through this area of life. I enjoy working with teenage males and athletes as I have experience in those areas and understand many issues which they are faced with.
Using elements from different modalities allows me to use an individualized approach to adapt to each clients needs consisting of ACT, CBT, motivational interviewing and having a person-centered approach.
