Are you feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day life? Are there things from your past that are unresolved? Do you desire self-improvement but don’t know where to start? Starting where you are is the first step in every new journey. I want to help guide you on your journey by helping you to unlock your own inner power to make transformative changes in your life. This can sound overwhelming, but you don’t have to do this work alone. I take a client-centered approach by meeting you wherever you may be in your journey of healing and self-discovery. Whether it be depression, anxiety, trauma, work or family stress or issues surrounding self-esteem and identity, you’ll receive the support that you need. I get it. Therapy can be intimidating. That is why I aim to provide a safe and affirming space for my clients to open up, grow and heal. In my 7 years as a social worker, compassion and understanding have always been at the cornerstone of the work that I do with my clients. Our sessions will not be the exception to this. This along with evidence-based techniques will be the key to helping you identify and overcome the current barriers in your life. Ready to work together? Let’s do it!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. If not ready to dive in just yet, no worries. I will meet you where you are, and we will work to build your confidence and trust in this therapeutic process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to listen and empathize without judgement. While that should be an expectation for any provider, these are qualities that I believe are innate within me. I understand that we all have our struggles and our unique journeys, so even if we don't share the same experiences, I still possess the ability to look at things from your perspective while also supporting you through my own clinical lens.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My ideal clients are those who have the willingness to do take the necessary steps to improve themselves. Those clients that may not be fully aware of where to start but are eager to explore and discover those first steps would greatly benefit from my services.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize their negative or unproductive thought patterns and the impact these thoughts may be contributing to their present struggles. By using techniques such as cognitive reframing and guided discovery, you will gain a deeper understanding of your negative thoughts and learn to effectively challenge and change them.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

When experiencing difficult times, we as humans can tend to be hard on ourselves. We judge or avoid our thoughts and emotions as opposed to validating and confronting them. I use ACT therapy to help clients accept and validate their emotions rather than being self-critical or in denial of them. By embracing uncomfortable emotions, we will learn to successfully manage and cope with life's stressors.

Psychodynamic

Our early life experiences can play a significant role in our current behaviors. We're often unaware of the lasting effects these negative experiences continue to have on us. With psychodynamic therapy, I will support clients struggling with depression, trauma or anxiety explore their unresolved conflicts and unconscious motivations for their behavior. By recognizing patterns of behavior stemming from our past, we will be able to interrupt the pattern and live a more fulfilling life.
