I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who currently resides in North Carolina. I received my degree online Capella University. I have been practicing for 10 years and I help men and women deal with anxiety, depression and also help married couples with relationship issues. I believe in supporting the total person since everything is connected, mind, body and spirit.
In the first session we will focus on building a rapport, understanding why therapy was chosen and what is going on now that they decided to seek out a therapist. The focus is on getting the client to establish trust and assist with any anxiety about therapy and reminding them that we are working together and they are not alone in this process.
In the last 10 years I have worked with a variety of individuals with numerous mental health issues, those who just need someone to talk to and those that struggle daily with life. I provide an environment where no one is judged, but supported and validated. They are a part of the healing process and understand that the power to change is in each one of us and with the right support, they have the power and ability to make the changes within themselves and I am simple the variable to assist with the process.
I love working with people who are struggling with finding their purpose and helping others to build their self-esteem while encouraging them to embrace the greatness that they have inside. I enjoy helping individuals find their peace and live their best lives as whole individuals productive in their homes and society.
It is important to identify the strength based approach to assist the client with identifying and using the tools they already possess to help them to heal.
This approach focuses on using the clients strengths to focus on building solutions to their problems. When honest with ones self people know themselves and should be a part of the healing process.
