Hello and welcome! I'm glad you're here! My goal is to create a warm and supportive therapeutic space to process life and resolve emotional distress. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, a life transition, or just life in general, I’m grateful to hold space for you. I especially enjoy helping young adults and womxn in living more self-assured lives. I also have unique experience in supporting healthcare providers, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people impacted by chronic illness, grief, and trauma. My schedule is typically a good fit for people who prefer to meet every other week.
I view therapy as a collaborative relationship where we can define your goals and work together to get there. My style is focused on being person-centered and values-based. Across sessions at your own pace, we will work together to explore emotions, gain insight, and develop strategies to help you navigate through challenging times. By identifying your values and allowing them to guide our work, we will practice self-compassion and mindfulness to create a more hopeful relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you. I believe in creating a warm and welcoming space, which includes inviting you to come as you are. Feel free to wear your comfy clothes, bring tea or coffee, or have your favorite snuggly blanket on hand!
As a social worker, I am specially trained to consider each person within their unique environment, and identify how trauma, oppression, and systemic injustice affects each person. This includes acknowledging/challenging oppressive systems and helping address the pain felt by marginalized individuals and communities. I highly value building safe, affirming, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationships. Each part of your identity is important, valued, and affirmed in our space. I wholly believe that you are the expert on your own life experiences. It is my privilege to get to hold space for your story.
I especially enjoy working with young/emerging adults and womxn who are often eager to become more secure in themselves but may be finding themselves stuck in loops of anxiety, worry, and insecurity. Together, we can reorient and help you feel more secure in yourself, the present moment, and the future.
I believe there is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy. My techniques are based on the needs and history of each client. I am very person centered and will also lean towards values-based approaches, such as ACT. I find it can be very helpful to explore and name the emotional roots of everyday challenges, while staying focused on your goals. I hold additional training in ARC (Attachment, Regulation and Competency), SFBT (Solution Focused Brief Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and play/expressive arts.
