Max Ehrmann’s poem, Desiderata reads “you are a child of the universe and have a right to be here. In the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul”. The poem’s sentiment resonates with my counseling philosophy and approach. If you have been struggling with a new medical diagnosis, grieving the loss of a loved one or are overwhelmed in your role as a caretaker consider reaching out. I would be honored to assist you on your healing journey. With over 20 years of experience as a therapist and as a clinical social worker in the medical field, I can help you embrace those aspects of yourself that calls for your attention and compassion. Providing a space where you can express whatever is in your heart that needs to be acknowledged, learned from and ultimately let go. Cultivating awareness as the foundation for healing, our sessions together will honor your innate wisdom, helping to create a path towards what you are most desiring.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is really about us getting to know one another. You can tell me what made you seek therapy at this time so I can gain clarity on what is ailing you. It is also helpful if you know what you are wanting to gain from our time together i.e. goals you have for yourself.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

The cultivation of awareness is fundamental in any process of healing the mind and heart. This awareness will be the catalyst for the change you are seeking.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Unconditional listening is something that is put first in our relating to one another and I want our sessions to be a comfortable space where you can express yourself and feelings fully. Once you can acknowledge to yourself what you are feeling, tension can ease and I will support this release further with Mindbody methods.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

People experiencing grief/loss, caregiver burnout and people facing new medical challenges/diagnoses.

I think that we are off to a good start. I have several things to keep track of before our next session and am hoping to see the beginnings of a better way ahead.
