During your first session, we will begin by talking about whatever is on your heart or mind that led you to therapy. We will then discuss your family dynamics by creating a "family tree" that will provide insight into the type of environment you grew up in as well as your current circumstances. This is also an opportunity to feel my vibe and see if I am the right match for you. My top priority as your therapist is to ensure you are getting the best care possible for your healing journey. If the vibe isn't there, that is ok! Choose yourself and do what is best for you.

CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.
Individuals who have the capacity to be self-reflective and are looking to obtain insight into themselves and their behavior are best suited to this type of therapy.
Culturally sensitive therapy will accommodate and respect the differences in practices, traditions, values and opinions of different cultures and integrate those differences into therapeutic treatment.
Grief counseling is most beneficial for individuals who are suffering from complicated grief, which is a prolonged (more than six months), intense, debilitating, and sometimes life-threatening response to loss. Therapeutic approaches that target the areas in which an individual is feeling “stuck” can help to resolve grief symptoms and allow the client to begin to move forward in a healthier, more adaptive way.
As a trauma informed therapist, I will work to empower my clients by honoring their voice and their choice on what they want and need from their therapy. Compassion and respect are the foundation of trauma-informed care.
