About me
Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I having been working with children, teens and families for the past 18 years. I specialize in birth to 5 development, specifically relating to trauma. For the past few years, I have been serving children, teens, and families primarily dealing with grief, toxic stress and/or trauma symptoms. Though my primary treatment focus is TF-CBT, I am very holistic and modify my approach to the unique needs of each individual/family.

For the first session, I focus on gathering information about the client and building rapport. The most important aspect of treatment is the therapeutic relationship, therefore I place emphasis upon understanding my client/clients as person.

My humanistic approach. Clients feel heard and seen within our therapeutic relationship. Clients do not feel judged in my presence and feel hopeful.

Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma-Focused CBT focuses upon becoming connected to your thoughts and emotions related to the traumatic event. After learning about thoughts and emotions, Trauma-Focused CBT confronts the trauma by the client creating a Trauma Narrative which will support the client in becoming desensitized to the trauma. The Therapist supports the client in creating a healthy understanding and belief about the traumatic experience/experiences.
