About me

Hi. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master's of Social Work from Western Kentucky University in 2007 and my Ph.D in Social Work from the University of Louisville in 2020. I have been working in the field for over 15 years. I specialize with people that are struggling with trauma and those who experience burnout as a result of career and/or a sense of a lack of fulfillment in life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I find one of my greatest strengths is finding light when things feel dark. I liken the journey with my clients to that of a lotus flower. Beautiful things can grow in muddy and uncertain environments.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well with people who are struggling with finding fulfillment and connection to a greater purpose. I help people determine their strengths and talents and utilize that in helping them navigate areas where they are "stuck" in fulfilling those dreams and connections they desire to live a full life with peace.

My treatment methods

Gottman method

I have completed Gottman Level 1 and 2. I use this along with individual therapy to optimize benefit.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I worked with the military for several years and use this modality as way to help people process moral injury and trauma in a more classic talk therapy progression.

Hypnotherapy

I have been certified in hypnotherapy with a focus on trauma and anxiety. I use this in combination with teaching coping skills and emotional regulation to help people recover.

EMDR

I am certified in EMDR and focus on working with individuals who may struggle with classic talk therapy and need additional measures to assist with somatic and physical symptoms associated with PTSD.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I have been trained in ERP as a modality to address anxiety and phobias. Exposure is key to treating anxiety and ERP offers a structured way to approach exposure. I often use this in combination with hypnotherapy for an interoceptive experience.
