Hello! I'm Julie Keck, a skilled Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida where I started my career in 2012. I create a welcoming, collaborative space for clients to feel seen, understood and not alone. I believe everyone has deep intrinsic worth and a story to tell. It is my joy to come alongside my clients as they discover their strengths and find their unique, fulfilled path in this world.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session I'll explain the therapy process briefly and what to expect. Then I'll ask you to give me insight into your world and the challenges you are facing, so together we can come up with goals you'd like to achieve through our work.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I view myself as a consultant more than an expert. Clients value my authenticity and ability to help them find the tools they need to succeed. I make sure my client's needs are always our main focus, and I am relentlessly positive in believing each client can achieve their goals. I have learned a great deal from my clients, and it is my honor and mission to always be growing alongside them.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in providing trauma-informed, supportive and validating care. My clients typically work really hard at their responsibilities and often feel frustrated with their inability to manage their internal emotional world. They sometimes feel they have lost themselves and as a result feel a lack of connection. I love helping clients reconnect with a sense of resilience, empowerment, identity and worth.

My treatment methods

EMDR

This is an experiential, research based treatment that engages multiple parts of the brain more than the traditional talk therapy. Clients are able to change negative beliefs about themselves and/or distressing emotions that come up in their current everyday lives by reducing distress still bothering them from the past.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

This is a compassionate way to view one's self while learning to nourish the parts that have been neglected, avoided, hated or feared. I help clients find the courage to listen to the important wisdom they already contain inside. This poem sums it up beautifully: The Guest House (Rumi) This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness Some momentary awareness comes As an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, Who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out For some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, Meet them at the door laughing, And invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, Because each has been sent As a guide from beyond.
