Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired, but unsure what to do about it? Does anxiety, depression, or other life conditions keep you from being your best? If so, I may be able to assist you in your growth and development along your healing journey. I serve to empower my clients and assist them in working through and overcoming their mental and behavioral health struggles. I have 20 years of experience in helping clients with recovery from trauma and abuse, stress, anxiety, depression, coping with addictions, and anger management. I will work with you to create an open and safe environment where your thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I appreciate you for demonstrating your worth and value as you begin your healing journey.
In our first session together, we'll begin with brief introductions, discuss confidentiality in the counseling relationship, and then move dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me design an individualized plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I view clients as whole people, not just a psychological diagnosis. Therefore, I utilize a holistic approach supporting you across the BioPsychoSocial-Spiritual domains of humanity. In other words, our personhood is made of Physical (Biological), Mental (Psychological), Relational (Social), and Philosophical (Spiritual) aspects, and we will therapeutically work in all four domains. Using an integrative methodology of cognitive behavior therapy, existentialism, and person-centered styles, together we will: (a) explore your past; (b) focus, design, and work in your present; and (c) create goals and plans for your future. Specific treatment methods may include talk therapy, handouts, stress reduction exercises, EMDR, and other modalities on which we work in partnership for your benefit.
I believe we have all experienced trauma. Whether the trauma was a single event or multiple episodes, simple or complex in nature, and occurred in our youth or adult years, trauma frames our perceptions and affects our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As such, trauma recovery is critical for ongoing health and wellness.
Sometimes we just need an empathetic ear to hear us. Sometimes we need a skilled professional to guide and encourage us along our healing journeys. At all times we need to be accepted for who we are in the present. I love supporting those who feel overwhelmed about their past, uncertain about their future, and stressed about their present circumstances. I enjoy helping others place their past in perspective, plan for their future, and empower them to grow in their present.
