(she/her)
Hi. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in North Carolina. I received my graduate degree from Appalachian State University. I have been in practice for five years. I have worked as a Medical Social worker for ten years prior to licensure and am familiar with folks living (and thriving) with chronic health conditions. I have worked in rural communities doing therapy in homes as well. I have seen amany facits of peoples lives and am grateful to have been allowed to be a part of their journey.
Like any good relationship, our first session will begin with getting to know one another. I would like to know what it is you are looking for and how I can best support you. This is also a great time for you to get to know me and ask any questions you may have. During this time, we will work together to create a partnership to move you towards your desired goals.
I would like to think that my lived experiences make me unique. I have a diverse background and a passion for helping others succeed and grow.
My ideal clients are those who are genuinely curious about themselves and want to learn skills needed to be the best version of themselves. They are challenged with how to begin changing their current patterns. They are open to a partnership in which they can learn and grow themselves.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most used tools in my toolkit. I like to use CBT because it puts the power back into the clients' hands. It increases awareness of negative thoughts and behaviors and allows people to decide new ways to reframe how they react.

I just had my first session with Margaret today. She was truly kind and very respectful. She was very expressive, which I found very refreshing!!

I have been seeing her for over a month now and never have I ever felt like I've connected to a therapist the way that I connect with her. She is able to hear me through the words I am and am not saying, she maintains a high level of respect, and it doesn't feel like she is probing my thoughts and traumas for the sake of therapy -- she wants to see me win!
