Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I believe each person has a unique story, shaped by experiences, that influence how we see ourselves and the world around us. Sometimes, these experiences can create perceptions that feel out of sync with who we truly are. My approach is grounded in the belief that you have an inner capacity for healing, and I’m here to help you connect with it—offering guidance, support, and a steady presence as you move toward deeper self‑understanding and growth. In our work together, you’ll have a warm, compassionate, and collaborative space where trust and mutual respect form the foundation. You don’t have to walk this path alone—I’ll be by your side every step of the way. I am a clinical social worker specializing in mental health. I have over 20 years of experience working in mental health and social services. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, and depression, and have advanced training and am certified in EMDR therapy (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). I have worked in several foreign countries in social services and with the military. I completed a Bachelor of Science, in Psychology/Biology at Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Science Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is generally history taking and getting to know you. We then begin working on helping you to gain practical tools to assist in regulating your nervous system to help you feel calmer and find emotional stability. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all—we’ll work together to develop a customized treatment plan that aligns with your goals and comfort level, supporting you in building the life you want.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Grief & Loss, PTSD & Trauma, Self-Esteem, Sexual Abuse, Stress Management, Life Transitions. My approach is integrative, blending evidence-based therapies that cater to your individual needs. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand and reshape unhelpful thought patterns, empowering you to find healthier ways to cope. I also specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a proven technique that helps clients heal from past trauma, manage stress, and foster a balanced connection between mind and body. This gentle approach allows you to process challenging experiences in a safe, supportive environment. I am also certified in the Safe and Sound Protocol which is a listening therapy to help regulate your nervous system.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who are age 15-64. If you’re ready to embrace change and cultivate a life filled with balance and freedom from trauma, I invite you to reach out. Let’s embark on this journey together, where lasting, positive change is not just a possibility, but can become your reality.
EMDR
EMDR is more than talk therapy alone. It incorporates bilateral stimulation, through guided eye movements, sound or tapping to help the brain reprocess memories. The therapy consists of eight phases that starts with history taking and ends with closure. The core of EMDR takes places in the middle phases. I trained in EMDR in 2018 and have been using it ever since. I am an EMDRia certified therapist. I most often use this therapy to help reprocess traumatic memories, anxiety, PTSD, depression, chronic pain and performance/social anxiety.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a structured form of therapy that helps you understand and change thought patterns and behaviors contributing to emotional difficulties.
