I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have worked in the mental health field for the past 9 years. I firmly believe that the therapy process looks different for each person and I am grateful for the opportunity to provide the support that can make this process a little less scary. Whether you are trying counseling for the first time or you’ve met with a therapist before, I applaud you for considering this space to better support your wellness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The purpose of this space is to explore your problems and experiences in a non-judgmental manner, learn more about what barriers are getting in the way of change, and figure out together what approach makes the most sense for your life. With me as a therapist, you can expect our sessions to include: -working together to identify goals that are reasonable and attainable -learning about why are brains and bodies show stress the way they do -exploration around your experience to better understand yourself -practicing skills to help manage your issues more effectively

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

You can expect me to check in to the here and now by asking how our conversations feel for you in the present. I have worked well with clients when we decide together what your goals may be and we work through them by 1) identifying what currently triggers the stress, 2) exploring what feelings, sensations, and narrative our brain tells us during the stress, and 3) coming up with a tailored plan to help you maneuver through the stress in a new way.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have worked with people of various identities and walks of life, though I have learned I enjoy working with those dealing with anxiety, depression, and adjustment. We as humans are not immune to these experiences, and while these challenges are experienced differently by different folks, I work to establish a warm and affirming space for my clients and their unique experiences.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize a CBT framework to address some symptoms of anxiety, including but not limited to, providing psychoeducation on the connection between cognition, emotions, and behaviors (along with physiological responses), identifying cognitive distortions, and introducing and practicing reframing.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have utilized DBT practices since first entering the field years ago. Using DBT in practice now can include learning about dialectics and acceptance, introducing basic mindfulness skills as a foundational practice, teaching and practicing skills within the other 3 modules of DBT -emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have practiced from a solution focused/brief therapy model for a few years and work with clients to identify attuned coping skills and problem-solving skills that are effective for them
