Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in California. I received my Masters from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA and have been practicing for 8 years. I help BIPOC LGBTQ+ clients dealing with imposter syndrome and low self-esteem to reconnect to their power and core to better handle the challenges life that brings. I use a holistic approach when getting to know clients, to better understand all of the factors that can cause distress and use that knowledge to create a roadmap to a better life. I use expressive arts as a means for self discovery and understanding, because expression goes beyond just words!
In our first session, I'll create a safe container for us to get to know one another. I want to hear all about who you are, in this moment, and who you want to be/how you want to feel about yourself and your life. But sharing can be scary with a stranger, so we'll take our time. But I am here for YOU. To witness you. Our follow up sessions will continue with exploring who you are and what goals you want to reach. Then together we will create a blueprint for attaining them.
I use a variety of approaches for this work. Exploration of self through expressive arts, understanding behavioral responses, motivation and triggers, and finding healthy, aligned ways to address what comes up.
I love working with adults at the intersection of being BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) and LGBTQ+ in high performance careers trying to manage imposter syndrome and build their self-esteem. Being part of a marginalized group while trying to climb the ladder in corporate/tech can be daunting. But we all deserve to have the things we desire. We all belong at the table, in a sustainable manner.
CBT is a method I use to help clients dive deeper into understanding themselves, why they have certain responses to situations, and how to adjust those responses to improve their quality of life.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy is a method I use with client to help them reconnect the mind/body/spirit. Often times when dealing with trauma or misalignment with life, we disconnect from our selves to survive. Using mindfulness help to repair that disconnection and restore balance within self.
Narrative Therapy gives clients the space to fully explore who they are and who they want to be. Together, we create a narrative for the life clients desire.
