Hi, I’m Maria a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor with twenty years of experience, including more than fourteen years supporting military service members, veterans, and their families. I specialize in working with high-achieving adults who look put-together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck under the surface. Many of my clients are used to carrying everything alone, pushing through stress, and holding themselves to impossible standards. In our work together, we slow things down, make sense of the patterns that keep you tense or on edge, and build tools that actually fit your life. My goal is to help you move from survival mode into a steadier, more grounded way of living where you feel clear, capable, and supported, not stretched thin.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our collaborative journey, we will work together to define practical and attainable goals that are tailored to your unique circumstances and aspirations. Through our sessions, we will explore and implement skill-building strategies aimed at empowering you to address the identified needs effectively. Together, we will navigate challenges, celebrate progress, and cultivate a supportive environment for growth and positive change. Your journey is about more than just reaching goals; it's about gaining insight, building resilience, and discovering your strengths along the way.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a committed clinician, my current focus is to offer genuine care and understanding tailored to each individual’s unique journey and extend empathetic support navigating your therapeutic journey. Your story is one of a kind, and I'm genuinely motivated to be the supportive guide you need. In my therapeutic approach, I prioritize collaboration, engagement, and a directive approach. I prioritize authenticity throughout the therapeutic process, encouraging clients to embrace their true selves. While therapy is a serious undertaking, I've observed that the most profound connections with clients develop when they feel at ease discussing their concerns without undue pressure. Central to my philosophy is the incorporation of laughter as a valuable coping tool.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My work focuses on people who push through stress quietly, often appearing capable and composed while carrying heavy internal pressure. If anxiety, trauma, or a major life transition has you feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself, we can rebuild clarity, confidence, and emotional steadiness together
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My approach is collaborative, engaging, and directive. I utilize evidence-based practices and interventions. I value the therapeutic process and meet my clients where they are on their road to wellness.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I choose to use Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) because it emphasizes practical and goal-oriented strategies for helping clients make positive changes in their lives.
Grief Therapy
My grief work focuses on helping clients make sense of loss without rushing their healing or minimizing their experience. I provide a steady, grounded space where you can explore the emotional, physical, and relational impact of grief while learning how to carry it with more clarity and less overwhelm.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, client-centered approach I use to help you clarify what you want, understand what’s getting in the way, and tap into your own motivation for change. Instead of pushing you toward a decision, we explore your ambivalence, strengthen your confidence, and identify the values that guide your next steps.
