Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in the State of California. I graduated with my Masters Degree in Social Worker from UCLA and have been practicing for over 20 years. I began my career working with seniors experiencing early symptoms of dementia as well as providing their family with resources and support during this challenging time. Events happened that altered my career resulting in me finding that my life's passion is to help people recover from childhood and/or current trauma so they can experience a life filled with a sense of peace and joy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will consist of brief introductions and spending time completing an assessment that will guide us in understanding the challenges you want to work on and creating a plan to address those issues in our future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with trauma survivors for the past 20 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. I feel my greatest strength is the ability to "be with you" through this journey you are undertaking as well as providing you encouragement, compassion, support and guidance on your path to healing.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT for 5 years working with trauma victims. I use CBT to assist people in learning techniques to cope with stressful life situations, identify ways to manage emotions, overcome emotional trauma related to abuse or violence and to manage symptoms of mental illness. This approach helps you to identify and change thinking patterns that creates anxiety and stress. You will be able to master the skills and techniques that you learned in your sessions during your week to reduce anxiety and depression, build your self-confidence and gain control of your emotions and behaviors.

Integrative

For over 20 years I have used an integrative approach to treating people seeking relief from trauma and symptoms of mental health issues. Experts agree that not all therapy models works with all people. I believe for therapy to be effective the individual seeking help needs to take an active role in their treatment. This approach allows me to educate you on different therapy models so you can make an informed decision about which model you believe will be most effective for you.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I have used IFS in my work with people who have experienced childhood trauma or domestic violence for over 3 years. I use this approach to help people reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety and trauma-related disorders. This approach is one of acceptance of all parts of who we are. Clients learn how to access their core self and to heal their wounded parts. Clients tell me that for this method to be most effective, it is important for me to create a safe environment and allow space for you to develop trust in me and in the therapeutic process. Those I have used this approach with report improvements in their relationships, an increase in self acceptance and a decrease in feelings of guilt, shame and self blaming.
