I am a Bilingual Mental Health Counselor who specializes in child development. Are you concerned your child's behaviors, speech, and motor skills are not aligned with your child's age group range? Are you unable to control your child? Are you concerned with your child's behaviors, anxiety, depression, and grades? Are you concerned about how these behaviors are affecting your child at home, school or in relationships with others? During the initial visit, I will visit only with you so that you can talk openly about concerns and issues that may not be developmentally appropriate to discuss in front of your child. This is an excellent opportunity to talk not just about your child's individual needs but also about difficult family dynamics, family history of mental health or substance use issues, traumatic events, background information about your child's early development, or any other issues that you may not want your child to hear details about at this time. Having one-on-one time with the therapist also allows you to ask questions about my approach, conversation style, professional training, and any other things that you would like to know about me, to help you confirm that I will be a good fit for your child and your family.
