Is emotional upheaval getting in the way of your moving forward with your life? I would love the opportunity to help you to sort through the sources of the emotions, help to make them more manageable, and help you to regain some sense of direction and progress for your life. Working toward more refined beliefs and understanding about emotions, circumstances, and responses to them can be helpful. In my roughly 28 years as a psychologist I have mostly worked with people who have problems with anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger, relationship problems, and aging issues. I have worked with ages ranging from elementary school to 70s and a little older. I have found that experience allows me to realize client needs more quickly than in my early years in practice, and hope to use this experience to your benefit. Note that online scheduling is limited. Broader scheduling options will be available to regularly scheduling clients, or by calling me at 678-322-8774. I typically respond to messages Monday morning through Thursday afternoon. Please also note that I do not provide opinions about disability or fitness to return to work or other activities for clients who are not well-established at the time that the request for such opinion is made.

Greetings! Secular psychotherapist here. Is taking care of everyone but yourself breaking you down? Tired of being called “co-dependent”? Do you have beliefs that are different from others and feel a little “off”? Are you becoming more and more anxious or depressed? You're not alone. I help those looking for a professional confidant and can help with processing difficult transitions and even traumas. Maybe the transition you are going through is attempting to take care of aging parents while raising a family of your own. Or perhaps you are having difficulty setting boundaries with a toxic person in your life. Perhaps you are having difficulty with relationships due to a past that seems ever so present. My therapeutic style is empathetic and interpersonal. Person-centered. I use evidence-based talk therapy (Acceptance & Commitment, Narrative, etc.) and mindfulness techniques. I believe in our getting to know one another well over time. I welcome diversity in my practice, including those with other than traditional orientations: religious, sexual, gender, or otherwise. Hit the “Book Session” today to find out if we are a fit.

Each age and stage of life brings new challenges and it doesn't come with a manual. My goal is to help clients navigate these transitions and challenges in the best way possible. I have spent 12 years working with children and families in a school setting and have seen the way family struggles impact the individual. My particular strengths are communication difficulties, relationship struggles, parenting and attachment needs. I am a practitioner of TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Interventions) and practice human-informed care. I believe that strengthening our healthy relationships and connections can help improve our quality of life.

Hi! Are you searching for more meaning & purpose in your life? Unsure where to start? Are you stressed, depressed, having difficulties at work, or at home, or in your social life? You may be coming to therapy because you’re tired of pretending…of struggling…of trying so hard, but continually getting the same results! I can help you gain control over anxiety, grief, depression, and feelings of hopelessness. My approach to supportive talk-therapy is that you truly already have within you the answers you seek. My responsibility is to help you find your inner strength & wisdom, and then to support you as you learn to clearly express the truth of who you really are. Your responsibility in therapy is to be honest and courageous! I will create a space where you feel safe enough to let your walls down and from there you can find balance, peace, joy, and even freedom from self-imposed and unkind negative thinking. It may be different to think of putting your needs before others, but if you examine “selfishness” as “wise” or “foolish”, you will see how to use “wise selfishness” to develop a deeper compassionate relationship with yourself and others. (terms in parenthesis are excerpts from: The Book of Joy: Lasing Happiness in a Changing World; by His Holiness the Dali Lama, Desmund Tutu, et.al.) Taking the first step toward therapy is huge! Yet, here you are, looking for a therapist that “fits”. Don’t stop now…day by day, in every way, you deserve to get better and better! Wherever you are is where we will begin. I’m empathetic and compassionate and work with valid tools and techniques that go beyond talk therapy. Let me support you as you navigate toward change. It would be my honor.

My name is Bill Massey and I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing in west central Georgia and east central Alabama. I graduated from the University of Georgia's MSW program in 1993 and became an LCSW in 1996. I have worked in home health and hospice for most of my career with a strong emphasis on geriatrics and dementia care. I have experience in inpatient psychiatric settings and residential services as well. I am looking to fill a niche that I have seen wanting attention for some time. For many years I have seen elders and their families in their homes but had to refer out any counseling other than crisis intervention to outpatient therapists. The problem is that I have been referring homebound people for outpatient therapy. This is not effective for many reasons. With the help of Grow Therapy, I intend to offer my services of counseling and case management to people in the comfort of their own homes. I will become a mobile mental health provider to serve a population that has gone largely underserved for all too long. My coverage area for in-home therapy will be Lee, Russell, and Chambers counties in Alabama as well as Muscogee, Chattahoochee, and Harris Counties in Georgia. I am opening up limited appointment times for virtual counseling as of mid May 2024.
