Are you currently struggling with your relationships and feeling overwhelmed and disconnected with yourself as well as with others? Are you feeling anxious or depressed or a combination of both or unsure exactly what you are going through? Are you too often feeling exhausted emotionally, mentally, and spiritually and not sure how to make necessary changes in your life to regain fulfillment and satisfaction? I can support you as we work together to identify the sources of your discontent. Together, we can focus your attention on those areas of your life that may be overlooked and consider other choices to help change how you are feeling. With us working together, you will be engaging in a safe, validating, and empowering therapeutic space. The building of our relationship will provide you with the opportunity to reframe your self-doubt and self-criticism without judgment into a constructive plan for moving yourself along so that you can experience your life more aligned with how you want it to be.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We will begin to build our therapeutic relationship together starting our first session. You will have the chance to experience the space to be safe, validating, non-judgmental, and empathetic. You will lead and I will follow and together we will work at making sense of your challenges. In each succeeding session, you will learn how to become more of an agent of your change and what that requires with the newly gained awareness achieved week to week.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a psychodynamic approach that helps you find more satisfaction and meaning in your life and in your relationships by exploring current and past situations, both of which you are aware of and/or not aware of. Understanding and healing come from the process of examining and talking through the challenging situations you have experienced and are experiencing. This way, you gain insight for yourself and understand how to proceed by making new decisions. Grief and loss are not easy to work through. My approach whether it is grieving the loss of a loved one or the loss of a relationship, I will support you and we will work together at a pace appropriate for you to first acknowledge your pain while working through the stages of grief and to learn ways to manage the familiar and unexpected emotions that are part of the loss. Also, you will learn to understand that your grieving process is your own and unique to you. Lastly, you will begin to create new meaning in your life. With depression, anxiety, and high stress, we will work together to first learn to identify the sources of each and then we will work together in coming up with a plan for managing yourself when the symptoms become overwhelming. Then we will explore your circumstances and examine your lived experience to better understand what other choices you have for taking care of yourself if you are often feeling depressed, anxious, and stressed. I work with couples who are looking to improve communication and intimacy mainly from an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) lens and from a Mindful approach to Non-violent Communication (MNVC). As a couple, you will become more clear with the emotions behind the interactions that you want support with: such as feeling disconnected from each other, having frequent cycles of conflict/arguments, and loss of intimacy. You will also learn and practice other ways to communicate needs and other ways to express yourself to your partner with clearer intention so that you lessen the frequency of the cycles and improve connection.
