Greetings, as a psychotherapist, I specialize in the field of trauma, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. I work with you to move from illness to wellness using an integrative, holistic approach I created. This is based on my last name, “Octaves Method,” published in the first edition, “Heal Thy Mind: Seven Strategies Towards Mental Wellness, Happiness, and Success.” This is available on Amazon for purchase. As a relational, psychodynamically trained clinician, I collaborate with you deeply and intimately. Our therapeutic treatments are reciprocal and collaborative exchanges. This mission is accomplished through evidence-based, non-traditional treatment modalities and research-based practices. Ultimately this relationship challenges your spiritual, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral ways of thinking, feelings, and behaving. As a result, our therapeutic relationship is transforming and healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is a meeting to see if I am a good fit. If you give permission, I will ask questions to get to know you and your struggles. I will explain my treatment plan and how to heal.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My current research looks at what I created, called the “Octave’s Method.” This integrative holistic model is used to treat traumas and those suffering from symptoms associated with depression and anxiety. It is based on research, over 20 years of social work experience, and applying this model in my life to heal from mental health struggles.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in working with adults. Most of the traumas experienced in life occur during these crucial years. It is my expertise that although you are 40 years old, there is still much-unresolved work from developmental years that are crucial in understanding. I work with various cultural, social, and economic populations, individuals with racialized experiences, and those still finding their ways in terms of gender and sexuality.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

This integrative approach is one of its kind in treatment of mental health, mental wellness, and mental illness. I work with patients in a 1:1 setting evaluating and understanding their underlying needs. I believe psychotherapy is helpful in changing one’s life. However, it is not the only option. I have traveled around the world studying and exploring the ways different cultures understand and search for happiness. As a trauma expert in the field, I have devised an integrative approach that uses meditation, animals, nutrition, movement of the body, and relationship building to improve one’s life and move them towards happiness. These adjunctive services will include meditation and yoga sequences from evidence-based research to support the processing of trauma exposure. I share my expertise in areas of trauma processing (neuroscience), attachment, intersectionality and oppression, and nutrition.
