Hello! I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Minnesota. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. I have been in the mental health field for almost 30 years and practicing as a therapist since 2010. I have had a broad base of experience in the arena of mental health to include community based work, hospital based work and private clinical work.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

When meeting with someone for the first time, I like hear what is bringing a person to therapy. I also like for the person to get a feel for who I am and how I approach partnering with my clients on the therapy process. During the first session is also a great time to explore what my client’s desired outcomes are.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a therapist are compassion and creating a safe, non-judgmental space.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy with with adults 18+, who are struggling with anxiety and depression. I also enjoy working with persons who are dealing with life transitions, communication challenges and challenges with being more effective interpersonally. Assisting clients to become more effective in managing and regulating their emotions is also of great interest to me. Assisting clients with a spiritual approach to managing their mental and emotional health is also one of my strengths as a clinician.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I have an eclectic approach to therapy which includes a variety of modalities to include: Cignotive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy and Christian Counseling.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is a foundational approach that I use with my clients. I use this method in partnership with clients to discover how thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviors are involved in the presentation and management of their moods and emotions.
