Hello, my name is Marjorie Rice. Are you looking for a dedicated therapist with a background working with individuals of all ages? Then I may be the right fit for your needs. I've been a social worker in Nashville, TN for seven years and am the mother of two adult children. My practice is open, diverse, and focused on meeting my clients where they are. I enjoy being creative in the modalities I employ including, but not limited to the following: CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Mindfulness, Family Systems, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Whether you suffer from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, LGBTQIA+ challenges or an unhealthy family dynamic, I am here to offer support as we, together, identify what's not working and how to create change. I love sharing my passion for mindfulness techniques such as meditation, yoga and grounding techniques. I am committed to providing quality mental health services through evidence-based practices.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our sessions, we will begin by building trust and rapport. I want to learn about "you," your hobbies, your history, and what "you" have identified as your counseling needs. Once we have identified goals for counseling, we will establish a treatment plan and devise a realistic timeline for positive outcomes. Hopefully, I will leave you feeling safer, more supported, and with greater optimism for the future.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Common treatment modalities/tools used include but are not limited to the following: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Crisis Stabilization, Problem-Solving Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Approaches include but are not limited to the following: Motivational interviewing, Safety Planning, Person-Centered and Strengths-Based Approaches

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As cliche as it sounds, my Enneagram reflects my strengths as Peace Maker, Enthusiast, and Helper. My background in crisis work has exposed me to many different profiles and circumstances, so I value an unbiased approach. At the end of the day, I hope to be a catalyst to my client's joy and emotional well-being.
