I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker licensed in CA. We all face life struggles at different points in our lives, the result of that can cause emotional distress or frustration. My goal is to provide you with a supportive environment where these life stressors can be explored and processed. I rely on a variety of treatment modalities and techniques to help you address your concerns, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and problem-solving therapy. Some of the issues I have helped clients address include mood symptoms, life changes, or trauma, among others. It can be difficult to make the decision to choose therapy, which is why I utilize a person-centered approach to assist you in learning adaptive coping skills and new perspectives to improve your well-being while helping you reach your full potential. I bring into therapy an understanding that everyone is unique, and with that, therapy is unique to them. I look forward to helping you improve your overall well-being and reach your full potential.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, we will go over some introductions and policies. Then, we will explore the current concerns so that we can tailor a specific plan for treatment. This is also a time to see if we are a good fit for each other.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a person-centered approach but do hold the belief that one therapy approach does not fit all. Therefore, I typically bring into therapy different aspects of many modalities, including problem-solving therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, among others.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My primary strength is working with men. Most of my experience has been addressing men’s issues, criminal justice, and LGBT issues. I feel one of my biggest strengths is the ability to build relationships with my patients. I am bilingual in Spanish and have provided therapy in Spanish as well.
