As a licensed mental health counselor, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, each facing unique challenges. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through therapeutic interventions tailored to their individual needs, I strive to empower clients to navigate life's difficulties and cultivate positive change. Witnessing the growth and resilience of my clients has been incredibly rewarding, and I am honored to have played a part in their journey towards healing and personal fulfillment!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

To ease any anxieties or uncertainties, I like to set up an initial session with openness for individuals who are eager to share, but also have structured questions to guide individuals in sharing. Many clients who are new to therapy can come in with many questions, which I make a priority to cover in the first session. Initial sessions are a time for us to get to know one another as clients engage in an open discussion of their reasons for seeking there. As I build a big picture idea of what you may be experiencing, you also get a chance to get to know who I am in my role as your therapist. Clients can expect a collaborate approach.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a mental health provider, I believe my greatest strengths are in my ability to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel valued, heard, and understood. My approach is grounded in empathy, a huge dose of compassion, and genuine care for each individual I work with. One of my greatest values as a therapist is respect. My background in collaborative approaches sets up an environment to engage clients as active participants in their own healing process. I believe in the importance of building a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust and mutual respect. I believe we are two experts in one session. I come in with psychoeducation and interventions, but clients also come in with their personal experience and personal goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a very evidenced-based practice that brings forth the psycho-education on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behavior. CBT is useful treating a wide range of disorders.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is easily one of my favorite modalities to work with. I love how ACT blends in powerful concepts of curiosity, values, and mindfulness into an therapeutic intervention. This modality allows for exploration rather than solution focused/ one-tracked mindsets. ACT really expands the awareness of the client and makes room for psychological flexibility.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT is a powerful tool when navigating trauma-based topics that need to be reviewed safely. The impact of trauma is something to navigate with care and CPT is a great modality that allows clients to own their story after becoming increasingly aware of what trauma actually is and being walked through the impact of the trauma the individual experienced. Trauma recovery is possible and CPT creates a path for it.

Christian Counseling

Faith is a wonderful tool when integrated mindfully and carefully. Religious abuse is common in the populations I have worked with and working through deconstruction without losing all faith is a possibility. There are ways to carefully navigate these topics with the client's consent that could help weave in the beauty of the fruits of the Spirit. (e.g. joy, patience, peace, kindness, faithfulness, etc)

Gottman method

The Gottman method is a very fruitful method when working with couples. Couples can often find themselves in long-standing cycles with no end in sight. The Gottman method reminds the couple to work to build their awareness of each other's inner world. explore new skills, and develop the consistency needed for a sound, long-term relationship.
