Hello I am Chaney Statler, a Licensed Marriage and Family Psychotherapist based in California. I received my Master's degree from The University of San Francisco in 2005 and currently run a private practice. I offer couples counseling to traditional couples as well as all types of Polyamorous arrangements. I also work with individual adults and specialize working with trauma, neurodivergence and gender fluidity. If you are lost, I can help find you. My work is trauma informed and I am able to provide EMDR when appropriate.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session I will ask questions about your family and background. It is important for me to understand the client's phenomenology in order to understand what they need from me. As we meet we will talk about the recent time period and track how the past may be influencing the present moment and potentially the future.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strength is my ability to connect with others. We are all human and have some common ground while at the same time, we are unique and one of a kind. I am curious about who you are and I want to help understand as much as possible about what that means for the here and now.
