I have worked in a variety of settings serving adults and older adults for 20 years. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW) as well as have specialized training in trauma, grief/loss, and addictions. I specialize in adult individual therapy working on issues such as symptoms of mental illness, trauma, and unhealthy relationship dynamics. I rely on an eclectic mix of therapy techniques such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma informed therapy, among others. I am a strong believer in individuals empowering themselves towards positive change at their own pace and recognize the importance of the therapist/client relationship. as key to improving oneself. If you are interested, please reach out to me and we can see if I am a good fit for you. I am here to support you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges that you are facing. We will explore these challenges and discuss what it would look like if you were able to overcome some of them and having the ability, as we all do, to move forward and achieve the goals we once thought were impossible. Nothing is completely impossible, with the right amount of persistence, patience, and hard work, you can achieve your most daunting goals. This will help me create a tailored plan that leads to substantial progress.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have about 20 years of experiences working with individuals with a mixture of difficulties in a variety of settings. I am a a patient person and always work with my clients at their own pace. I am happy to change methods if you don't feel it is working for you, just let me know and we can find something helpful to you together. You are not alone.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

This is a higher form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). It focuses on moving forward in your life and not getting stuck on past suffering, mindfulness practice: being present in the moment and working on improving what you can, improving communication and relationships, and finding meaning in your life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This is an advanced version of DBT. It focuses on individuals that are not as weighed down by past hurts, but need help in moving forward.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is the most basic form of therapy and versions of this are seen throughout my treatment as it is the most basic change that needs to be addressed in order to reach success in your life. It teaches basic skills when first starting and how thoughts, behaviors, and emotions all impact each other.

Family Therapy

Working with family members to help support the individual as much as possible in order to help that person advance in their goals.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Utilized a lot within dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to allow the individual to be aware of their present thoughts and feelings, establish realistic long term and short term goals, and address what needs to be changed in their life.
